Olunyala (K), also called Olunyala East, has words which are gender linked. The following are some of them. 

  1. Ekhole- he- goat 

  2. Elaho_ castrated goat
  3. emiku- ram
  4. Emosoti- heifer
  5. Eseyeyi- a male dog.
  6. Esibinje- a hut build for a mature lady who is unmarried.
  7. Esichiri- eunuch.
  8. Esichola- the first son one sires from an inherited woman.
  9. Esichong'o- unbetrothed lady
  10. Esichwisi- betrothed lady.
  11. Esimba- a female lion.
  12. Esimba- a hut belonging to young boys after graduation from circumcision.
  13. Esiombo- beautiful lady.
  14. Esipepe- brown ladies who were believed to be immoral.
  15. Esipichu- a lady of marriageable age.
  16. Esisonga- cow that has not given birth.
  17. Esitakho- hen that has laid eggs before.
  18. Esitwasi- female cow that has given birth.
  19. Esubeni- cockerel
  20. Esurusi- mature bull for bull fighting or mating.
  21. Etalang'i- a male lion
  22. Etaywa- cock
  23. Ewukuka- the clan into which your father is uncled.
  24. Ewukukhu- the clan into which your mother is uncled.
  25. Ewunwa- a young bull
  26. Eyeyi- oxe
  27. Khapere- incorrigible young man.
  28. Khocha- maternal uncle
  29. Kuka- grandfather.
  30. Kukhu- grandmother
  31. Makwali- a widower.
  32. Mama- mother
  33. Mukha- wife of somebody.
  34. Mukhwasi- wife's brother.
  35. Mulamwa- wife or husband's sister and cousin.

  42. Nasikoko- unmarried lady who has given birth while at their home.

  44. Omubinje-  a female teacher of girls during adolescent time.
  45. Omucheke- male prostitute 
  46. Omufumu- male diviner.
  47. Omukhachangokho- man escorting dowry to bride's home.
  48. Omukima- a virgin (specifically applied to females)
  49. Omukoko- sister 
  50. Omung'ina- quee termite.
  51. Omusachangolo- a man with many wives.
  52. Omutamba- female prostitute.
  53. Omutendi- ladies who served visitors.
  54. Omusachangolo- man of ripe marriageable age but not yet married; 'junior' bachelor.
  55. Omusinde- uncircumcised boy.
  56. Omusisira- spinster
  57. Paranoti- male bull ready for castration
  58. Senge- aunt.
  59. Siembekho- a mature uncircumcised man.
  60. Yaya- paternal cousin. At times considered distancing a relationship hence less preferable than wandaye.

Abanyala ba Kakamega have various sports and games for children and men in the society. Elderly women only play a role of teaching children the games. The following were the major games. Amakhu - These were fights involving cattle- specifically bulls. The game spontaneously took place at the grazing fields where people enjoyed by cheering and jeering. At times, herdsmen could goad the bulls from one herd to fight with another bull from another herd. This was done after grazing and ignited by forcing the bulls to smell blood from a tick.  No specific organised days and events were reserved for amakhu among Abanyala ba Kakamega. It was just a grazing field event. Also, the children had soil made animal-toys that they played with imitating the animal fights in a game that they too called amakhu . ABANYALA BA KAKAMEGA: Names of Non Edible Wild Mammals.

By Balovera Edwin Ongacho Abanyala have names for many wild non edible mammals. The following is a list of a few of the mammals in Olunyala (K). Efukho - mole. It commonly attacked sweet potatoes. It was trapped using twig of olukhoni that was places at the opening of its hole. Efukho Efuniyusi- skunk.  Efuniusi Ekhene esaha- The Common Vervet Monkey. Its male type was identifiable for having blue scrotum area. Because it was the commonest, its image bacame associated with the word monkey. Many people knew it as the real monkey. Ekhene Ekhima- Blue monkey. Some people still call it a general name as ekhene . However, those in the know use the name ekhima . Ekhima Ekhooli - giraffe. It is also called by use of a borrowed word etika Ekhooli Ekhondo - dark white monkey with a long tail. It tied its tail around tree branches to help it swing around from one branch to the next. ABANYALA BA KAKAMEGA: Abanyala Music, Dances and Clothing

Abanyala ba Kakamega have songs and dances during most of their cultural activities. The singing and dancing comprise of key elements: the dancing arena (omuse), authentic songs melodies ( emienya ), the singers ( ab'embi ), the authentic dance styles ( oukhino ), the authentic costumes and decor ( emiefwalo ) and authentic instrumentation ( amakhana ). Abanyala dances are usually fast paced dances. Their main indigenous dance is called chilumbe. A] SONGS AND DANCE IN CULTURAL SETTING Most cultural activities have an accompanying song.
